NBAA Announces Recipients Of 2015 Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarships

Winners Recognized During Conference In San Jose, CA

The NBAA and its Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Committee have announced the 15 recipients of the Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarships. These individuals will be recognized during the 2015 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference (SDC2015), which is going on now in San Jose, CA.

These training awards, given in conjunction with annual sponsors, promote the career development of current and aspiring schedulers and dispatchers. Companies generously donating training awards this year were: Airline Dispatch Federation (through Flamingo Air Schools), Beyond and Above Corporate Flight Attendant Training, CornerStone Strategies LLC, Corporate Aviation Solutions, Corporate Flight Attendant Training by Susan C. Friedenberg, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Fireside Partners, FlightSafety International, GA Food Safety Professionals, Jeppesen, King Schools, Inc., MedAire, Inc., NBAA Air Traffic Services, Service Elements, UnitedHealthcare Global and Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc.
 
The following are the recipients of the 2015 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship Awards:

  • Sue Pickelman, Pentastar Aviation
  • Pamela Province, Business Air
  • Blake Summers, Horizon Air
  • Aymie Thornton, JCPenney
  • Dallas Toon, Lake Clark Air, Inc.
  • Lyndsey Waller, Stryker Corporation
  • Owen Woodland, student, University of Dubuque

NBAA's S&D Committee offers scholarships through two separate but related programs that specifically promote professional and career development for business aviation schedulers and dispatchers.
 
The Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship Program, initiated in 2004, offers opportunities for scholarship recipients to gain access to hands-on teaching initiatives.
 
Through a separate Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship Program, the committee offers cash grants, which can be used for a variety of professional development initiatives. Since 1997, more than $576,250 has been awarded to schedulers and dispatchers through this program.
