STC Granted For Installation Of GTX 3000 And GDL 88
The FAA has issued a Part 25 ADS-B Out Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Learjet 60, which was achieved by Butler Avionics, Inc. and is now available to the Garmin dealer network. The GTX 3000 Mode S Extended Squitter (ES) Transponder and GDL 88 ADS-B datalink combine to fulfill global ADS-B requirements while meeting the stringent demands of these business aircraft. The addition of Flight Stream 210 allows these operators to display beneficial ADS-B traffic and Flight Information Service-Broadcast (FIS-B) weather on a compatible mobile device. This ADS-B upgrade meets the immediate needs of aircraft that have limited options to address airspace requirements around the globe.
The GTX 3000 and GDL 88 offer Lear 60 operators a seamless and integrated path to achieve ADS-B Out compliance, while meeting air traffic modernization initiatives around the world. Highly accurate WAAS/SBAS position information provided by the GDL 88 is leveraged by the GTX 3000 to broadcast aircraft identity, state and intent data (DO-260B compliant) to air traffic control, while integrating with existing TCAS/ACAS systems and transponder controllers. This adaptable solution compliments equipment already installed in the aircraft, further streamlining the installation process.
As part of Garmin’s growing ADS-B portfolio, the GTX 3000 meets current compliance standards as a certified ADS-B Out solution when paired with a compatible WAAS position source such as the GDL 88, allowing this cohesive system to meet ADS-B requirements for a variety of aircraft types. With this Garmin ADS-B solution, owners and operators satisfy global requirements and receive the benefits of ADS-B without the need to pursue costly Flight Management System (FMS) or cockpit display upgrades.
Installation and STC/PMA kits for the GTX 3000 and GDL 88 ADS-B suite in the Learjet 60 are currently available from Butler Avionics, Inc. in New Century, Kansas (KIXD).
