California Capital Airshow Announces Performer And Aircraft Lineup

The USAF F-22 Raptor Jet Demonstration Team Is The Headliner

The ninth annual California Capital Airshow (CCA), presented by Sacramento County, has announced its headlining act, the United States Air Force (USAF) Air Combat Command F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team as well as its roster of performers, aircraft and interactive exhibits for the 2014 Show scheduled September 6-7, at Mather Airport (KMHR) in Sacramento.

The USAF F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team will return to the skies of Sacramento headlining the Airshow this September.

“The Airshow is an event for the whole family, providing young people with endless exhibits and interactive displays exploring the world of aviation and the many opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math related fields," said Darcy Brewer, executive director of the California Capital Airshow. "CCA fans will be inspired as they watch the skies come alive, meet and greet the pilots and crew, and explore historic aircraft along the ramp and so much more.”

Also on the schedule are the Harrier Jump Jet and the Patriots Jet Demonstration Team

In addition to the military and civilian jet team performances, the Airshow will showcase world-renowned aerobatic performers, warbirds, and vintage aircraft that will inspire both young and old to dream big. Performers include:

  • USAF Heritage Flight – Featuring the F-22 Raptor, P-51 Mustang and everyone’s favorite, the P-38 Lightning
  • Lucas Oil Aerobatics and Parachute Team - Including Mike Wiskus flying gravity-defying aerobatics in his Pitts S-1-11b, and the Lucas Oil Parachute Team as they open the Show with the American Flag followed by a series of breathtaking jumps later on in the Show
  • Gregory Colyer – The Ace Maker, featuring the iconic Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star
  • Bill Braack – Smoke N’ Thunder Jet Car, racing down the runway at close to 400 mph
  • The Tombstone Riders – Welcome to the Wild, Wild West! Complete with narrative and story line, the Tombstone Riders will present a truly wild west, wingwalking extravaganza!
  • Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Space and Aviation LaunchPad

“Airshow fans will enjoy an action packed weekend both on the ground and in the air. Every gravity-defying maneuver, fly-over and aerobatic performance will leave you speechless. It’s going to be an incredible show,” said Brewer.
