Of Wisks and Rewards…

Wisk Aero—the California-based, advanced air mobility joint-venture undertaken by Boeing and Kitty Hawk Corporation—is hosting public displays of its fifth-generation electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft in the United Kingdom and Australia.

Dubbed Cora, Wisk’s display aircraft embodies the culmination of a developmental process that began in 2010 and has seen the company progress from simple, hover-only prototypes to the fielding of the world’s first autonomous, all-electric air-taxi.

In addition to showcasing Wisk’s conceptual and technical facility, Cora manifests the company’s professed belief that less time getting there means more time being there for the moments that matter.

In the United Kingdom, one of Wisk’s aircraft will be on display at the Farnborough International Airshow from Monday, 18 July through Friday, 22 July. The display will be in the Wisk Chalet, adjacent the Boeing Pavilion. Wisk’s CEO, Gary Gysin, will be onsite to share more about Wisk, the aircraft, and the company’s autonomous approach to AAM.

In Australia, following the recent announcement of Wisk’s expansion into the land down-under, a second Cora aircraft will begin a series of antipodal displays with a late-July showing in Queensland’s capital city, Brisbane.

Wisk CEO Gary Gysin states: “We are excited to publicly share our 5th Generation, all-electric, self-flying, eVTOL air taxi with the UK and Australia for the first time. We are fortunate to have a fleet of test, demo, and display aircraft, which allows us to be in multiple places at once without impacting our development and flight test programs. We look forward to sharing our 5th generation aircraft with the UK and Australia, as well as other locations around the world in the near future.”

The upcoming displays are the first of many Wisk plans to undertake in the coming years, and represent an important facet of the company’s broader, community engagement efforts.
