Luxair Signs Firm Purchase Agreement For Up To Five Q400 NextGen Aircraft

Airline Replacing Less Efficient Regional Jets

The national airline of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg ... Luxair Societe Luxembourgeoise de Navigation Aerienne S.A. ("Luxair") ... has signed a firm purchase agreement for three Q400 NextGen aircraft and taken options on an additional two airplanes.

Based on the list price of the Q400 NextGen aircraft, the firm order is valued at approximately $100.3 million and could increase to $169.5 million should Luxair exercise all its options.

"Our Q400 NextGen aircraft have proven to be a winning formula for us at Luxair as we continue to replenish our fleet with the newest, most modern turboprops that are providing maximum flexibility to our business clients; and quality travel at affordable prices to our leisure customers," said Adrien Ney, President and Chief Executive Officer, Luxair. "The addition of more Q400 NextGen aircraft - with their excellent economics, environmental credentials and passenger comfort - is an ideal solution as we open more regional routes and expand frequencies."

"We are thrilled that Luxair continues to look to the Q400 NextGen turboprop to realize its growth strategy and enhance its operations," said Ryan DeBrusk, Vice President, Sales, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Russia & CIS, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. "Luxair's latest acquisition highlights the Q400 NextGen aircraft's ability to deliver turboprop economics, along with jet-like operations, while servicing some of the most environmentally-sensitive airports across the globe."
