Sometimes, all it takes is a little inspiration.

ANN received an email from Pipistrel USA Master Distributor Michael Coates saying that while the Pipistrel Alpha would not be the first electric airplane to cross the English Channel, neither would the Airbus E-Fan aircraft, which completed the round trip Friday. As it turns out, that distinction went to French pilot Hugues Duwal, who crossed the channel from Calais, France to England and back in his single-place electric Cri-Cri E-Cristaline aircraft just hours before Airbus made the attempt in the other direction in the E-Fan. One of the icons of the homebuilding community has Gone West. The Bede Company said in a notice posted on its website that Jim Bede passed away July 9, 2015 as a result of an unrecoverable aneurysm suffered at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. The flap over illegal immigration comments made by Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump has filtered all the way down to the FAA, and it appears they are going to take action. It’s been reported that the fixes identified as, "DONLD, TRMMP, and UFIRD" at Palm Beach International Airport will be changed to comply with what the FAA must consider as political correctness. No mention was made as to whether or not the IVNKA ONE departure procedure would also be renamed. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
