"Cancelling The 2020 Milwaukee Air & Water Show Is The Responsible And Necessary Thing To Do"
The COVID-19 curse continues to have a destructive effect on the airshow industry, as well. The 2020 Milwaukee Air & Water Show, which was scheduled with the US Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team for July 25-26 this year, will not be held.
“Given the amount of uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we recognize that cancelling the 2020 Milwaukee Air & Water Show is the responsible and necessary thing to do,” said WaterStone Bank President/CEO Doug Gordon. “We can keep our communities safe and healthy by supporting local public health efforts. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Milwaukee Air & Water Show in 2021.”
“The rare and exceptional opportunity to host the Navy Blue Angels made this a very tough but necessary decision to make,” Milwaukee Air & Water Show President Paul Rogers said. “The only responsible option was to cancel this year’s event.” “Together, we can come back stronger, safer and ready for the 2021 Milwaukee Air & Water Show, and create a memorable world class event.
“This was a hard decision that impacts so many involved with the Milwaukee Air & Water Show, but it is the right decision during this unprecedented time”, said Milwaukee County Parks Executive Director Guy Smith. “We are eager to be a part of the show’s return in the future.” The Air & Water Show will return to the skies over Milwaukee on July 24-25, 2021! All tickets that have been pre-purchased for the 2020 Air & Water Show, will be refunded.
The Milwaukee Air & Water Show is unique in Milwaukee’s history. From its grassroots beginnings in 2002, the air & water show has grown into Wisconsin’s largest free event, providing a substantial economic impact to Milwaukee’s local economy. The Milwaukee Air & Water Show showcases the role of aviation in the community, the history of air power, provides a forum for educating young people about aviation, and encourages the natural excitement these upcoming generations have for flight.
