"The CH-47 has proven itself to be a workhorse for the US military and other countries for many decades. Boeing has built a time proven machine that's capabilities are unparalleled in very different conditions such as hot and high altitude temperatures."

Source: Al Blain, Co-owner of Billings Flying Service, in comments made as the FAA approved the Billings Flying Service application for a restricted type certificate on the Chinook CH-47D helicopter. According to Blain, this is the first and only type certificate for the CH-47D helicopter.
