Aerospace Industry Brings Economic, Educational Opportunity To Colorado

Several Stops Planned Across The State Next Week

The Colorado Space Business Roundtable (CSBR) is conducting an Aerospace Business Development Road Trip across western Colorado. CSBR is traveling to four communities to share how the aerospace industry benefits every community in Colorado.

As the aerospace industry in Colorado continues to grow, CSBR is committed to spreading knowledge of the industry's positive local impact, highlighting opportunities for Colorado suppliers to get involved and providing STEM opportunities for students and educators. It spreads this message through frequent roundtable discussions with Colorado stakeholders and road trips around the state.

This year's Aug.  29 – Sept. 2 road trip will travel to Grand Junction, Naturita, Durango and Montrose. Local partners include CLUB 20, West End Economic Development Corporation, La Plata County Economic Development Alliance and Montrose Economic Development Corporation. There will be opportunities to meet with local businesses that are interested in becoming a supplier or subcontractor to the larger aerospace companies such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Sierra Nevada, United Launch Alliance and many others.

The 2014 and 2015 road trips included programs all throughout Colorado and resulted in the creation of the first-ever Colorado Aerospace Internship Experience program for students. Outcomes of the road trips have resulted in small businesses from around the state doing business with each other.
