In this short video Tom Genovese, the Director of Sales for Mid Continent Instruments and Avionics, shows us a product that allows our cockpit to become as modern as a new car.
As cigarette lighters have disappeared in automobiles, USB ports have taken their place to power and charge our personal electronic devices. Mid Continent Instruments has now come up with USB charging ports for airplanes.
Genovese shows us this neat installation in various forms. It is designed for use in the cockpit or in the passenger compartment, and even a lighted version is available. The USB block includes two charging ports, and it supplies enough power for any personal electronic device.
The installation a simple, the price is reasonable, and it’s FAA approved for type certificated aircraft. It’s about time airplanes kept up with our need for USB power support.
