Cropduster Targeted During Spraying Operation

Sustained Damage From Gunfire Over A Field In Missouri

A cropduster who was helping out a friend in the business in southwest Missouri was targeted by someone with a gun while spraying a field.

The pilot was not named in a report from KYTV in Springfield, MO. But it was reported that he had agreed to take some work from Lisa and Kevin Kingsly, who own a cropdusting business in the area, while their plane was down for repairs. The pilot is reportedly a friend of the Kingsley's.

Last Wednesday, while working a field in Lawrence County, MO, someone shot at the pilot multiple times. When Lisa Kingsley arrived after receiving notification of the incident, she said she counted 16 holes in the wing and fuselage of the 1997 Thrush 510. She said the shots came "within inches" of bringing the plane down.

Kingsley told the station that the incident is being investigated by federal authorities.
