Wisconsin Teen Faces Additional Charges In LAX Bomb Threat

Sentencing Hearing Postponed With Guilty Plea Pending

A Wisconsin teenager who made bomb threats against Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX) is facing additional charges that have forced a postponement of his sentencing hearing.

Clint O. Terrell, 17, was expected to plead guilty to felony charges of causing a bomb scare and impersonating an officer. The McClatchy news service reports that he admitted making a bomb threat against the airport January 8th that forced the evacuation of Terminal 1. The terminal was reopened after about an hour when the FBI determined that the threat was not credible.

Additionally he's charged with disorderly conduct and using a computer to make a threat. He is expected to plead not guilty to those charges.

But the sentencing hearing was delayed because Terrell was arrested again for being online when he was ordered by the court to stay off the Internet. Defense Attorney Zachariah Fudge asked that the sentencing be delayed so that the two cases could be resolved at the same time.

Terrell said he made the initial threat to prove himself worthy of joining a hacking group online. It was reportedly made and recorded using a Skype account on his computer and uploaded to YouTube.
