Army Identifies Soldiers Lost In Iraq Helo Midair

OH-58D Kiowa Warriors Collided Near Kirkuk

The US Army has identified the four soliders who were killed in Iraq Monday, when their helicopters collided during nightime operations about 20 miles west of Kirkuk.

The fallen soldiers are Chief Warrant Officer Philip E. Windorski, Jr., 35, of Bovey, MN; CWO Matthew G. Kelley, 30, of Cameron, MO; CWO Joshua M. Tillery, 31, of Beaverton, OR; and CWO Benjamin H. Todd, 29, of Colville, WA.

Defense Department officials confirmed the helicopters involved were OH-58D Kiowa Warriors (similar to type shown above). The mishap occurred at approximately 2:15 am local time Monday.

Enemy action is not suspected as a contributing factor to the midair.
