CharterX Releases Industry XChange 5.0

Finding The Right Plane At The Right Price

CharterX has released the fifth generation of its online marketplace, the Industry XChange, where air charter buyers and sellers meet. Companies involved with air charter or unscheduled air taxi (Part 135) have unique requirements for the latest information on airplane availability, scheduling and pricing because of the varied and rapid client demands.

CharterX delivers up to date data on significant air charter carriers across the country. More than 1,000 business jets have availability data updated by the operator each week. The system also stores information on more than 1,000 deadheads on any given day. Air charter buyers are increasingly turning to the web to locate the exact aircraft for each itinerary; the Industry XChange is where many of them go. With the launch of Version 5 Industry XChange, they can find the exact aircraft, with exact pricing instantly.

The system processes more than 1,500 full flight searches each day.

"It's an exciting time in the air charter industry. As new aircraft enter the fray, new buyers and sellers join the market, and the overall business is maturing such that being connected is vitally important,” states Jim Betlyon, CharterX President. "One Way travel, as made popular by the fractional and card programs, is becoming a huge operational requirement for both the operator and broker community. An online system optimizing and matching the demand and supply is absolutely necessary for air charter to thrive.”

The new technology platform provides the latest capabilities for directly connecting operators' in-house scheduling systems, along with XML connections which meet the broader travel industry standards. CharterX, which pioneered connecting the Part 135 market on the internet, reports that search volumes, connected operators and buyers continues to grow briskly, up 50% since the previous year.
