Pietsch Is A Past Recipient Of The Prestigious Art Scholl Memorial Showmanship Award
In acknowledgment of his 45+ years as an air show performer in his iconic Interstate Cadet, his unique truck-top landings, his entertaining and one-of-a-kind comedy act, his contributions to the pure entertainment of the air show industry, and his ingenuity and creativity connecting with audiences across North America, Kent Pietsch will be inducted into the ICAS Foundation Air Show Hall of Fame at the 2021 ICAS Convention.
A past recipient of the prestigious Art Scholl Memorial Showmanship Award, Pietsch has a well-deserved reputation as one of the world’s most entertaining air show performers. His long-running national sponsorship has helped set the standard and has become a model for many modern-day performer sponsorships.
Kent's website notes that since 1973, he has performed his incredible aerobatic routines for millions of people at more than 400 shows that have taken him to quality venues throughout the United States. He flies an 800-pound Interstate Cadet with a 37-foot wingspan. The plane’s horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine can generate 90 horsepower and fly routines requiring -3 to +5 Gs.
While most aerobatic performers have one basic program, Kent executes three acts that leave spectators mesmerized. These include a dead-stick routine from 6,000 feet and a rooftop landing on a moving RV! However, Kent is best known for a comedy act that features a detached aileron and a wild wingtip-scraping pass down the runway that you must see to believe.
Looking forward to the capstone of the 2021 ICAS Convention, the Chairman's Banquet, on Thursday, December 9 at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas to honor Kent Pietsch, the newest ICAS Foundation Air Show Hall of Fame inductee.
