ForeFlight Releases Update To Its App

Includes Synthetic Vision, Sentry ADS-B Receiver Support

The latest enhancements to ForeFlight are available now for download on the App Store. Synthetic Vision with traffic and glance mode, when paired with the new Sentry portable ADS-B receiver, gives you a new level of situational awareness.

The Sentry ADS-B receiver is compact, powerful, next-generation portable ADS-B receiver. Sentry provides:

- Inflight weather and traffic on ForeFlight
- AHRS
- Internal WAAS GPS
- Longer battery life
- Onboard storage for weather replay
- CO sensor and alarm system for added safety

Sentry will also support the FAA’s soon-to-be-released FIS-B weather products, including lightning, turbulence, icing, cloud tops, and more. Sentry's firmware is updated though ForeFlight and will unlock new capabilities in the future, like data recording and dual-link networking. Retailing at $499, Sentry is available for purchase now on Amazon.

Synthetic Vision now shows moving traffic targets for nearby aircraft, complete with relative distance and altitude. Swipe within the Synthetic Vision window to enter Glance Mode, an interactive 360-degree view of the terrain, obstacles, airports, and traffic around your aircraft.

Synthetic Vision is available with a Pro Plus subscription plan or higher.

Customizing ForeFlight themes and color inversion settings is now a lot easier. Select from Day, Night or with Auto mode, ForeFlight will automatically transition between the Day and Night themes at sunrise and sunset, helping your eyes adjust to changing light levels with no app interaction needed.

ForeFlight’s web-based Trip Assistant feature for easy door-to-door planning now has dual maps showing the proposed driving routes to and from each airport, providing more insight into the trip ahead.

Trip Assistant is available with the Performance Plus subscription plan.

You can now view organized track systems published daily for the North Atlantic, North Pacific, and Australasia regions directly in ForeFlight. The tracks are color coded based on direction and have labels showing each track’s name and component waypoints. Tap on each track to see valid times and controller notes.

Organized Tracks are available with the Performance Plus subscription plan.
