CIT Aerospace Orders Five More 737s

Will Bring Total 737 Fleet To 46 Planes

Global commercial finance company CIT Group Inc. announced this week its CIT Aerospace unit signed contracts with Boeing for five new 737 aircraft, valued at approximately $311 million at list prices.  The aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2011.

"We continue to see strong demand for the Boeing Next-Generation 737 family of aircraft," said Tony Diaz, Executive Vice President of CIT Aerospace, Commercial Airlines. "The addition of these five aircraft to our fleet enhances our product offering and enables us to meet the growing needs of our customers."

"CIT Aerospace continues to recognize the excellent value of the Boeing Next-Generation 737 as an investment," said John Feren, vice president of Sales - Leasing & Asset Management, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "CIT has been a great partner in contributing to the tremendous success of the Next-Generation 737 among the world’s airlines."

This latest order will add to CIT's 41-plane 737 fleet. The aircraft lessor also has 10 Boeing 787s on order.

Boeing calls its Next-Generation 737 family "the most technologically advanced airplane family in the single-aisle market." To date, 109 customers have placed orders for more than 4,300 Next-Generation 737s.
