BLR Aerospace To Take Orders For King Air 90 Winglets At NBAA

Space Is Limited... So Order Soon!

Operators of King Air 90s may soon significantly increase aircraft performance and cost savings by installing Winglet Systems from BLR Aerospace.

Dave Marone, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the company, tells ANN the upcoming NBAA Convention represents the final opportunity to place pre-certification orders for the winglets. BLR will exhibit on the show floor throughout the three-day event, Booth 4066.

The company expects FAA certification of the performance-enhancing Winglet Systems very soon. The certification will apply to all King Air C90s (LJ 589 and up) and E90s (LW 26 and up), plus all King Air GTs and GTis.

Already certified and installed on King Air 200s, 200GTs, and 300s, Winglet Systems deliver impressive improvements in stability, cruise speed, and rate of climb. Some 150 Systems have been delivered to date.

Operators are increasingly interested in the financial benefits of Winglet installation, Marone said. "With rising fuel prices and economic pressures, Winglets are a solid financial decision. Customers benefit from immediate increases in asset value and ongoing reductions in direct operating costs."

In terms of performance, Winglets deliver increased cruise speed (3-6 knots) and increased vertical rate of climb (300-400 fpm). Additional benefits include reduced drag and improved handling qualities.  The performance improvements are a direct result of an increase in effective wingspan and associated increase in aspect ratio combined with the beneficial impact of the winglet acting as a physical pressure barrier, conserving valuable lift.

Winglets are available from a worldwide dealer network, including many Hawker Beechcraft Services authorized locations.

BLR designs, develops, manufactures and markets airframe aerodynamic enhancements for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. BLR’s history of aerodynamic innovation has produced over 60 FAA STC approvals for after-market aircraft modifications. The company’s primary product lines involve airflow manipulation technologies; winglets, vortex generators, FastFin and dual tailboom strakes, and specially designed products all aimed at improving aircraft performance.
