Bob
Gardner has updated ASA's Complete Pilot Series, The Complete
Private Pilot, now in its Ninth Edition. This textbook, a part of
ASA's Complete Pilot Series, is written for anyone interested in
pursuing a Private Pilot or Recreational Pilot certificate.
In a conversational yet concise writing style, Bob Gardner
covers everything you need to know in the adventure of becoming a
pilot. He provides tips and techniques, checklists and mnemonic
devices, as well as sound advice from personal experience. The
Complete Private Pilot helps readers not only prepare for the FAA
Knowledge Exam, but also for the cockpit. Several chapters refer to
aeronautical charts, and a full-color example of a sectional chart
is provided for use with the many interactive exercises throughout
the text.
Each chapter concludes with a sample of questions
taken directly from the FAA exam. This allows students to quickly
grasp the subjects presented, pass the required tests and
checkrides, and have an operational understanding of flight they
can take into the real world as newly-minted private pilots.
Included throughout the book are internet links for weather
charts, flight planning and more. Practical application of the FAA
exam, along with comprehensive coverage in one convenient volume
all comes together in The Complete Private Pilot.
The Complete Private Pilot is a companion textbook for Virtual
Test Prep-an Aviation Ground School in DVD format. An integrated
Flight/Ground Syllabus for both Part 141 and 61 programs is also
available for use with this text. The book is softcover, with a
Foreword by Richard Taylor, and a glossary and index are included.
It has 336 pages, and is illustrated. The Complete Private Pilot is
$24.95, ISBN 1-56027-449-2.
