Sensors Available For Lycoming, Continental, Rotax, And Jabiru
Engines
Garmin has announced that several G3X opportunities are on tap
for experimental and homebuilt pilots prior to and during the 2010
EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
- Garmin is offering rebates of up to $3,500 on G3X single and
dual screen system purchases made between July 1 and December 31,
2010.
- G3X engine sensor kits are now available and shipping for
popular Lycoming, Continental, Rotax and Jabiru engines. The G3X
supports sensor types such as cylinder head temperature (CHT),
exhaust gas temperature (EGT), oil temperature, fuel flow and
more.
- Garmin has significantly expanded its EAA AirVenture Oshkosh
trade show exhibit and a centerpiece of the 2010 booth is the new
"Area G3X." Current and future G3X customers can meet with
G3X-perts throughout the show, attend seminars offering education
on electrical systems for kit-built aircraft, discover the best G3X
configuration for their aircraft, and participate in free t-shirt
giveaways (while supplies last).
In conjunction with EAA AirVenture, Garmin is hosting a "Show Us
Your Panel" Sweepstakes. Customers are encouraged to upload a photo
of their Garmin-equipped panel displaying any Garmin aviation
product before August 31 and they will have a chance to win an
aera 500 portable GPS device.
The G3X is a customizable PFD and MFD combination and features
one, two or three all-glass displays; magnetometer; ADAHRS
(combined air data and AHRS unit) and engine monitoring. Thanks to
its building block design, customers can create a high performance
panel that is tailored to their experimental or light sport
aircraft. The G3X includes preloaded or optional high-end,
G1000-like features such as synthetic vision, integrated autopilot
interface, EIS display, XM WX Satellite Weather (optional),
obstacles and terrain data, IFR map mode, FliteCharts, SafeTaxi and
AOPA Airport Directory data. In addition, multiple G3X databases
may now be downloaded at one time, which simplifies the database
update process.
