Raytheon Aircraft Parts
Inventory & Distribution (RAPID) has teamed with Aviall Inc. to
further increase the quantity and range of spare parts available
for Beechcraft and Hawker customers. Aviall, which markets and
distributes products for more than 215 aviation manufacturers, will
provide a full line of non-factory parts such as aviation
batteries, hoses, wheels and brakes, oxygen and paint mixing
services. These parts listings, totaling more than 60,000, have
been integrated into the RAPID web site for immediate customer
access. The expanded listings were activated in late 2003.
“Our partnership
with Aviall gives Beechcraft and Hawker customers a greater variety
of parts selection in a seamless transition,” said Ed
Dolanski, Vice President – Customer Support Operations for
Aircraft. “Customers will be able to access and order every
part they need, from factory-built to accessories, all in one web
site.”
The system will also work in conjunction with RAPID’s new
Worldwide Inventory Network (WIN), which links RAPID’s
inventory list with participating Authorized Service Centers.
Customers can order parts directly from RAPID or service centers,
allowing more convenience and timeliness, especially for
hard-to-find and out-of-stock parts.
“Our e-business solutions are changing the landscape for
customer service in aviation,” Dolanski said. “We are
creating industry-leading programs and systems that are providing
greater flexibility and responsiveness from the manufacturing
standpoint, and much more convenience for our customers.”
“As we expand our OEM partnerships by leveraging our
award-winning information technology and supply-chain management
capabilities, we continue to strengthen our ability to serve
aviation customers and suppliers alike,” said Dan
Komnenovich, President and Chief Operating Officer of Aviall
Services.
