Gulfstream G-IV With Blown Tires Lands Safely In New York State

Rapper Post Malone Was Among The Passengers On The Airplane

There were some tense moments in the skies over the U.S. east coast Tuesday after a Gulfstream G-IV had at least two of its tires blow out on takeoff from Teterboro Airport (KTEB) in New Jersey.

Among the 16 people aboard the jet was rapper Post Malone, who was traveling to London's Luton airport. The plane departed KTEB at about 11 a.m. Tuesday. The pilot was initially going to return to Teterboro to attempt a landing, but was diverted by air traffic controllers to Stewart Airport (KSWF) north of New York City.

Fox News reports that the airplane was carrying 3,700 gallons of fuel, and it circled over northern New Jersey to burn off fuel before attempting the landing.

The airplane landed safely just before 4:00 p.m. at Stewart International Airport. The FAA said in a statement that the airplane was towed to the ramp. All aboard were uninjured.
