Sony's Airpeak Drone Publicly Unveiled

Airpeak Is The Smallest Drone Capable Of Carrying Alpha Camera System

During the festivities, this week, surrounding CES' somewhat lackluster virtual 2021 event, Sony has unveiled the Airpeak aircraft as part of its drone project in the area of AI robotics.

Teased for a few months, and loath to provide much info, the drone has now been seen a few questions are slowly being answered about its mission and capabilities.

Airpeak is expected to be released to the public in Spring 2021, and is specifically aimed at professional photographers and video pro's. Exact dimensions of the quadcopter were not yet provided, but the aircraft is supported by two landing gear extensions that retract upward when it takes off.

In the  first phase of its deployment, Sony will launch a new business segment in the spring of 2021. The drone can be equipped to fly with an Alpha mirrorless camera and is reportedly the smallest unmanned airframe capable to flying with this equipment.

Sony is teasing further info, and is offering only gradual details as they lead into the spring launch timeframe.

More info coming when it becomes available.
