FAA, JCAB Issue STC To Gogo For Internet Service Installation

Ku-Satellite Equipment Approved For JAL Boeing 737-800 Aircraft

Gogo has received an STC from the FAA and certification from the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) - the aviation authority in Japan - to install Gogo's Ku-satellite based connectivity service on Japan Airlines' 737-800 aircraft.  This is the fourth certification Gogo has received specific for JAL's connectivity service and marks the last one needed to install JAL's complete domestic fleet.

Gogo has partnered with JAL to install connectivity service and Gogo Vision - Gogo's wireless in-flight entertainment service – on JAL's domestic fleet and the certification is a key milestone in the installation process.

"The 737-300 is the last piece in the puzzle for JAL.  We are already in the install process on several other aircraft types and expect to have a consumer launch on JAL later this summer," said Michael Small, Gogo's president and CEO. "Gogo is the clear leader when it comes to navigating the regulatory hurdles for the installation of broadband connectivity services and has guided numerous aircraft types and technologies - in both commercial and business aviation - through the Supplemental Type Certificate process."

Gogo now holds more than 60 STCs for broadband connectivity services covering numerous commercial aircraft types and Gogo's ATG, ATG-4 and Ku-satellite band technologies.
