Fuel Truck Collides With Jets At DFW

Aircraft Were Parked, And No Serious Injuries Reported

An Allied Aviation fuel truck collided with two American Eagle Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft at DFW airport Monday morning, resulting in damage to both the aircraft and the truck. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Television station WFAA reports that in a statement to the station, American Airlines said it is "reviewing the incident in coordination with the vendor."

It is not clear if anyone was inside the truck when the collision occurred. Both aircraft were preparing for departure from Terminal B at DFW. A winglet on one of the airplanes was destroyed and the wing on that aircraft was damaged by the accident. The truck then continued on to impact a second aircraft parked at a different gate. The wing of that airplane went through the windshield of the truck.

Paramedics evaluated a flight attendant who was on board one for the aircraft, but the FA was not transported to a hospital.

American cancelled the two flights that were to be operated by the aircraft, and passengers were accommodated on other flights later Monday.

The airport's Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.
