Bombardier Restarting CRJ200/Challenger 850 Production

Flexibility Of CRJ200 Platform Satisfies Three Distinct Markets

Bombardier is restarting production of the Bombardier CRJ200/Challenger 850 aircraft platform. The production is scheduled to start in mid-April 2006 and will take place at Bombardier's Dorval facility to primarily meet present and anticipated demand for Challenger 850 business jets.

On October 2005, Bombardier had announced the temporary suspension of the production of the CRJ200 aircraft platform.

The impact on the level of employment from this new production will result in the recall of approximately 50 employees at the Dorval facility.

"The unparalleled flexibility and superior technology of the original CRJ200 airliner platform continues to generate significant interest in three distinct offerings - as a corporate shuttle, and as a large cabin executive jet, in addition to the market-leading 50-passenger CRJ regional airliner," said Pierre Beaudoin, President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Aerospace.

"Challenger 850 aircraft operators are able to take advantage of an outstanding dispatch reliability based on the proven CRJ200 aircraft record, low direct operating costs and an established worldwide support network," he added.
