New Heliport Announced For San Juan (PR) Metro Area

San Patricio Heliport will open on top floor of gallery mall parking structure

A new metropolitan heliport is about to open in San Juan (PR). The San Patricio Heliport will be located in the heart of San Patricio Plaza, Galeria Plaza and San Patricio Shopping Village.

The heliport will be a concrete slab 40 feet on each side over steel beams, located on the top floor of the Galeria Tower parking garage at an altitude of 157 MSL. It will enjoy clear ingress and egress at a magnetic heading of 085 and studies show it will enjoy a perfect headwind at all times.

The heliport will be open for day or night operations with lights and a lighted windsock. The parking garage elevators are located just steps from the landing pad, which gives pax easy access to the street level and the surrounding commercial and shopping areas, as well as convenient and ample parking space for vehicles.

The parking structure where the heliport will be located is 6.3 NM from Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU, TJSJ) and 3.1 NM from Fernando Luis Ribas Dominicci (Isla Grande) Airport (SIG, TJIG).

The heliport will be available to private aircraft owners, corporations and air charter operators by signed contract. It will be supported by an Internet- and telephone-based 24 hour reservation system, and will be monitored by security personnel 24 hours a day. Its design will allow aircraft up to 9,000 LB to operate from the pad, which includes aircraft such AStar, Bell and Robinson helicopters.
