SeaMax M22 Goes Down In Connecticut Lake

No Injuries Reported In The Accident

A seaplane made what is described as a "rough landing" and sank in Candlewood Lake in Connecticut last Friday, according to Connecticut State Police.

FAA records indicate that the airplane was an Airmax Construcoes SeaMax M22. FAA preliminary information shows there were no injuries associated with the incident.

Television station WVIT reports that the incident occurred near the Sherman/New Fairfield line just before 1600 local time. It began taking on water shortly after coming to a stop.

A good Samaritan in a boat was able to help get the occupants out of the airplane. They were not identified.

The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environment Protection was dispatched to the scene to deal with any fuel spill or other environmental considerations associated with the incident.
