Boeing Pledges $100,000 To Pacific Northwest Flood Relief Efforts

Company Also Commits To Match Employee Donations

With torrential rains wrecking havoc throughout the Pacific Northwest, Boeing announced Wednesday it has committed $100,000 toward future rebuilding efforts in areas of Washington and Oregon damaged by the recent flooding.

In addition, Boeing will match employee donations to the American Red Cross dollar-for dollar -- and retiree donations at 50 cents on the dollar -- through the end of the year.

Boeing is one of the largest private employers in Washington state and Portland, OR with approximately 75,000 employees across 34 sites. No Boeing sites or facilities have been affected by the flooding, but many persons have lost their homes and livelihoods in the ongoing storms.

"The recipient(s) for the corporate contribution will be named once we assess what the long-term needs are in the region and which agencies have the best plans to address them," said Rick Stephens, senior vice president, Human Resources and Administration. "In the meantime, our thoughts remain with those affected by the flooding."
