Bird Shows "Attitude"
Sino Swearingen
Aircraft Corp. tells ANN that the FAA recently issued a Type
Inspection Authorization (TIA) for the new SJ30-2 executive
business jet, that included Minimum unstick Vr abuse testing.
Company minimum unstick speed (VMU) testing was recently
completed during a series of flight tests in which the test pilots
purposely abused the normal takeoff procedures by testing for tail
strike or stall capabilities at Vr. The new SJ30-2 successfully
demonstrated that it can safely takeoff and fly away from ground
effects while maintaining extreme pitch attitudes without any
occurrence of a tail strike or stall.
Pitch attitudes at takeoff were at extreme positions of up to 15
degrees nose up. The tests open the way to unrestricted rotation
speed Vr that will provide low and easy takeoff speeds V2 and
shorter takeoff distances. This assists in the projected easy and
very good handling takeoffs with the new SJ30-2 twinjet
aircraft.
Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation is certifying the new
SJ30-2 in San Antonio TX with 430 employees in four facilities
totaling over 220,000 sq ft in the USA Coast To Coast. The Company
continues spectacular acceleration of the FAA certification
projected to be final in the second half of this year 2005. The new
Sino Swearingen SJ30-2 business jet is a high performance, long
range, intercontinental, twinjet aircraft with an incredible 2,875
sm range and one of the highest cruise speeds in the industry to
Mach .83 (560 mph). The SJ30-2 will operate at altitudes to 49,000
feet and maintain a "Sea Level Cabin" to 41,000 ft with the best
pressurization in the business jet world, 12 psi. The new SJ30-2
will also have certification for single pilot operations.
