Bombardier Terminates Purchase Agreement With Jet Republic

But Remains Committed To The Learjet 60 XR Program

Bombardier has parted ways with Jet Republic, which had planned to purchase 110 Learjet 60 XR aircraft from the Canadian transportation company. In a brief news release Thursday, Bombardier said they have terminated both the firm and conditional order purchase agreement with Jet Republic in respect of all aircraft. Jet Republic's $1.5 billion order for 110 Learjet 60 XR aircraft, consisting of 25 firm orders and 85 conditional orders, was originally announced on June 20 of last year.

Bombardier remains committed to the Learjet 60 XR program and production of the aircraft at its Learjet facility in Wichita, Kansas, continues as planned. In service since July 2007, the Learjet 60 XR combines the extraordinary value and high-speed of its predecessor, the Learjet 60 aircraft, with a state-of-the-art avionics suite, restyled cabin environment including broadband capability by the end of the year.

Last week ANN reported that Bombardier had terminated an agreement with Italy's My Air Airline for 19 CRJ900 jets.
