Fight Against ATC Privatization In Focus At NBAA-BACE

Attendees Have Several Ways To Express Their Views On The Subject

As the fight against H.R. 2997, which contains a provision for ATC privatization, continues, industry advocacy on the legislation is taking center stage at the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) this week in Las Vegas, NV.

“The so-called ATC-privatization bill effectively represents a give-away of America’s aviation system to a board of special interests, unaccountable to Congress,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “Business aviation professionals must make their voices heard to prevent ATC privatization and put congressional and FAA focus on what is truly important – modernizing the aviation system, so that it remains the world’s best, five, 10 and 25 years from now. Our convention represents an important opportunity to help people mobilize on this critical issue.”

At this year’s convention, the 25,000 people expected to be in attendance will be encouraged to use iPads – made available on site by a dedicated ATC Not for Sale team, wearing branded t-shirts – right on the show floor. Signage, lapel stickers and other promotional items visible throughout the exhibit hall and the static display of aircraft will further encourage attendees to contact their elected officials during the convention week at the show.

The topic has also been in focus during some of the show’s key events, including the Oct. 10 Media Breakfast, and the convention’s two opening sessions.
