NYC, Wash., Phila. Airports Closed Sunday-Monday

One Very Nasty Snowstorm

As a result of severe winter storms on the East coast, AirTran Airways has suspended operations to/from the following airports for the remainder of the day: Baltimore-Washington International, Philadelphia International and Washington-Dulles International. The airline does not expect to resume normal operations in the Washington area and Philadelphia airports before 12:00 noon EST, Monday, February 17, 2003.

White Out

The airline will also suspend operations to/from both Newark International and New York LaGuardia on Monday, February 17, 2003, due to the severe winter storms. At this point, it is unclear when normal operations will resume in the greater New York area.

Every effort is being made by AirTran Airways to notify the affected passengers of these flight cancellations and to make alternate travel arrangements.

Check With The Airline

Passengers wishing to check on their flight status may do so by checking online at www.airtran.com on the home page under "Flight Status" or they may call the airline at 1-800-AIRTRAN and select option 1. In Atlanta, please call 770-994-8258 and choose option 1.
