Winglet Technology’s Elliptical Winglets Selected For Citation Ten

Design First Certified For Citation X

The newly-introduced Cessna Citation Ten will utilize the Elliptical Winglet design originally developed and certified by Winglet Technology and Cessna Aircraft Company during a collaborative FAA STC project.

Winglets On Citation X

Winglet Technology, LLC initially received FAA approval of the STC permitting installation of the Elliptical Winglets on the Citation X in June 2009. Since that time, Winglet Technology has received EASA (Europe), ANAC (Brazil), TCCA (Canada), and DGAC (Mexico) approval of the Elliptical Winglet STC for the Citation X. The STC includes updated AFM, OPS, and W&B Supplements along with an updated version of CESSNAV containing interactive electronic versions of each supplement for customers who have previously purchased the CESSNAV subscription from Cessna.

The Elliptical Winglet shape provides superior aerodynamic performance across a broad range of Mach number and operating conditions. The patented Elliptical Winglet design is superior in many aspects to traditional winglet designs. The elliptical shape ensures the lift distribution of the wing closely matches optimum lift distribution Winglet design is superior in many aspects to traditional winglet designs. The elliptical shape ensures the lift distribution of the wing closely matches optimum lift distribution along the span of the wing, which minimizes the induced drag of the aircraft. The resulting drag reduction enhances the overall operational performance and translates into the following performance improvements for the Citation X.
