Pacific Flying Club Joins Air Georgian's SOAR Program

Becomes 15th Partner In The Pilot Pathway Program

Air Georgian's SOAR program for aviation career awareness, recruitment and retention has grown with the addition of their 15th partner, Pacific Flying Club. The partnership provides a career pathway for instructors and students of Pacific Flying Club to join Air Georgian as First Officers, giving them an entry point into the Air Canada network.

"Pacific Flying Club is delighted to join Air Georgian's SOAR program," said Clark Duimel, Executive Director of PFC. "This initiative will provide us the opportunity to attract and retain superior flight instructors and provide the airline with a pool of highly qualified pilots while supporting the industry demand for skilled professional pilots."

"Air Georgian is thrilled to have Pacific Flying Club join SOAR," said Julie Mailhot, Air Georgian Chief Operating Officer. "This mutually beneficial partnership will allow PFC to recruit high potential pilots who want to eventually get into a rewarding airline career."

SOAR provides industry partners with predictable pilot attrition and advance notice of hires. It also gives employees and students of partners visibility regarding career progression and an entry point into the Air Canada system.

SOAR (Sharing Opportunities for Advancement and Reward) initiatives include:

  • Raising awareness of careers in aviation for high school students
  • Working with flight schools and 703/704 operators to recruit pilots into Air Georgian, and;
  • Providing career fulfillment and advancement opportunities for all employees
