Tulsa Apartment Bombed By Oklahoma ANG

Dummy Warhead Falls Through Roof

The mid-American city of Tulsa, OK, came under surprise attack Thursday night, after a 22-pound dummy bomb dropped from an Air National Guard aircraft.

No one was hurt when the bomb fell into the apartment of Jeremy Isbell and his wife, according to The Tulsa World. The couple wasn't home when the bomb fell... but the errant munition took out their electricity, and part of their bathroom wall.

Isbell ran outside to alert nearby electric company workers, who were at the complex to determine the cause of a power outage.

Investigators estimate the bomb fell onto the apartment at about 600 mph, from a fighter en route to Smokey Hill Gunnery Range in Salinas, KS. The jet was heading to the range on a routine training mission, according to the Oklahoma ANG's 138th Fighter Wing.

The pilot thought he had dropped the BDU-33 bomb over the training range, the statement read... but instead, it fell shortly after takeoff from Tulsa.

"We do not take off out of Tulsa with live bombs," Maj. Gen. Bud Wyatt told KOCO-5. "We don't take off out of Tulsa with live rockets or live missiles."

A number of federal agencies are investigating the matter, including the NTSB, FBI, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
