Alteon Training's New General Manager, Brisbane Training Centre

Alteon Training, a wholly-owned subsidiary Boeing, has appointed John Alp as general manager for the new Brisbane Training Centre currently under construction in Queensland, Australia.

In his new position, Alp will be responsible for training operations in Brisbane. He will report to Bill Gardner, vice president - Asia/Pacific at the Alteon Asia/Pacific regional office in Seoul, South Korea.

Alp has more than 25 years of experience in the aviation industry. He was an Instructor Navigator in the Royal Australian Air Force, Flight Operations Ground Instructor with Qantas, advised on setting up the Kuwait Naval Training School following the Gulf War, and joined CAE Australia as its Regional General Manager. Prior to joining Alteon (formerly FlightSafetyBoeing), he had his own company and successfully represented a number of U.S. companies in Australia.

Alteon will offer a vast range of aviation training services at the new training center - the first for Alteon in this region. The state-of-the-art facility will be built next door to the Brisbane Airport and is expected to have its first customers by the first quarter of 2004.

The Brisbane Training Centre will have six full-flight simulators, which have the capability to train 4,500 pilots annually. The equipment being installed at the center includes Boeing 737-700/-800 and 717-200 full-flight simulators. The Brisbane Training Centre is one of several facilities Alteon plans to strategically locate near customers throughout Asia/Pacific.
