Yesterday Atlas Air announced that it had signed an agreement with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Daytona Beach, Florida, through which it will recruit, train and hire graduates of the flight school.
ERAU is the first aviation school to be selected for this ‘Pathway to Success’ program for its pilots seeking a career with Atlas Air.
ERAU graduates selected for Atlas Air’s Pathway to Success program get first dibs at interview provided they meet the following criteria: BS in Aeronautical Science with a 3.0 GPS and exceptional flight record, first class medical, three semesters as a full-time flight instructor, commercial multi-engine rating, graduate with experience required for restricted Airline Pilot Transport (R-ATP) license, and meet minimum flying experience within two years of graduation.
Atlas Air’s First Officer trainees in the Pathway to Success program do earn a number of benefits including monthly stipend, medical benefits, 401(k), required courses, and checkrides. Mr. John W. Dietrich, President and CEO of Atlas Air Worldwide stated that “we are excited to partner with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a leader in aviation education, through our Pathway to Success program for pilots.” Dr. Alan Stolzer, Dean of the College of Aviation sees it as a win-win, and stated that they also “strive to support the industry by preparing skilled aviators who are exceptional decision makers. Embry-Riddle’s agreement with Atlas Air is well aligned with both of those objectives. It is a win-win for our graduates and for the aviation industry.”
