Bristow Employees Receive Industry, Government Safety Awards

Five Recognized For Dedication To Safety

Employees in Bristow's operations in the U.S. and U.K. have been recognized recently for their leadership in safety by industry and government organizations.

Captain Jay Slagle from Bristow's North American business unit was awarded the Helicopter Association International 2012 Salute to Excellence Pilot of the Year Award. The Association's awards honor those who maintain the highest traditions of the helicopter industry.
 
Tom Monroe, Chief Inspector for Bristow's FAA Repair Station in the North American business unit, was presented the prestigious Charles Taylor award by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for his lifetime accomplishments as a senior aviation mechanic.
 
John Wilson, an engineering manager who has worked in Bristow's European business unit for nearly 40 years, received the Lifetime of Safety Award at the2012 Safety Conference Heli-Expo.
 
Todd Smith, general manager of Bristow Academy operations in New Iberia, Louisiana, received the Helicopter Association International 2012 Salute to Excellence Rolls-Royce Excellence in Helicopter Maintenance Award.
 
Tim Glasspool, head of Bristow's flight operations in the European business unit, was appointed co-chairman of the Step Change in Safety's Helicopter Safety Steering Group.
 
Bill Chiles, CEO of Bristow Group, commended the award recipients for their dedication to safety. "We're very proud of these employees who have done an outstanding job in helping us drive to Target Zero." Target Zero is Bristow Group's industry-leading program focusing on safety, reliability, and service. Bristow Group is recognized by clients and the industry for its performance in safe operations, proven safety programs and technical innovations known to save lives. In fact, Bristow was awarded the 2011 National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) Safety in Seas Award, recognizing its outstanding contribution to the safety of life offshore for energy workers.
 
Bristow's leadership in safety will continue to grow and influence the industry with Bill Chiles's recent appointment to the Executive Committee of the International Helicopter Safety Team (IHST), a worldwide organization leading a multi-year effort to reduce the civil helicopter accident rate.
