Lockheed Martin's Lawson To Speak At Atlanta Aero Club

Executive VP & GM Of F-22 Program Will Discuss The Raptor

Larry Lawson (pictured), Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lockheed Martin's F-22 Program, is scheduled as the featured guest speaker for the regular bi-monthly meeting of the Atlanta Aero Club scheduled for December 4. Lawson is responsible for the development, manufacture and sustainment of the new Raptor aircraft.

As the F-22 program prime contractor, Lockheed Martin leads the team of Boeing, Pratt & Whitney and more than 5,000 Lockheed Martin Employees as well as 1,000 suppliers. The F-22 is the United States Air Force (USAF) front line Air Dominance fighter achieving the highest levels of performance in stealth, mission equipment and aerodynamics.

Prior to heading up the F-22 program in 2004, Lawson was Business Development VP of Lockheed Martin's Electronic Systems Business Area in Bethesda, MD. He has also held executive positions with McDonnell Douglas and Martin Marietta.

Recently, the Atlanta Aero Club took a leadership position, along with the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) in developing a Georgia State Proclamation declaring October as the official Aviation Appreciation Month to honor the businesses and individuals who contribute to the State's and Nation's large aviation industry. The Proclamation was signed into effect by Georgia Governor Sonny Purdue.

The meeting is scheduled for Noon on December 4th in the Grand Ballroom of the Capital City Club in downtown Atlanta.
