Heli-Expo 2008: Scott Cochran Joins Dallas Airmotive

New West-Coast Rep On Expanded RR 250 Sales Team

BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul company Dallas Airmotive announced at this week's Heli-Expo 2008 it recently hired industry veteran Scott Cochran as its Regional Engine Manager for the Western Region of the US. The addition of Cochran expands Dallas Airmotive’s domestic RR250 sales team to three representatives.

"Scott is highly experienced in both sales and management," said Dallas Airmotive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Dennis DiMarco. "His background with both OEMs and service companies gives him a unique understanding of our customers’ needs and priorities. An added bonus is that he is already familiar with operators in the Western US, Alaska and Hawaii having spent more than 30 years in the region. We know Scott will be a valuable addition to our sales efforts as we continue to increase our presence in the 250 market."

Cochran has served in a wide range of roles during his career including management of an engine shop, acting as a field service representative, and technical services sales. In 1990, Cochran established and ran Aviation Turbine Overhaul in Hawaii at the behest of its parent company, and in 1993 successfully transitioned this company’s assets to Pacific Aerospace Services where he then served as managing director.

Most recently, Cochran worked for Rolls-Royce Engine Services out of Oakland, California where he was a Regional Sales & Service Manager. Cochran is a licensed A&P mechanic with extensive training in Rolls-Royce 250 series and Turbomeca Artouste engines.

Dallas Airmotive offers extensive repair, overhaul and exchange services on Model 250 compressor, turbine, combustion, gearbox and accessories components for Series II, III, and IV engines. These services are performed at the company’s Lafayette, LA facility -- which the company reports has experienced a surge in activity as the rotor wing market has enjoyed a period of rapid growth in recent years.

"Over the past twelve months, we have experienced a pickup in demand from local offshore helicopter operators as well as contracts with air medical service companies," said Dallas Airmotive President and CEO, Hugh McElroy. "Lafayette has high technology repair equipment such as CNC machining/grinding equipment, plasma coating and heat treating. And we are committed to installing additional equipment such as vacuum brazing to expand our capabilities."
