Subsidiary Of US Airways Reaches Agreement With Flight
Attendants
US Airways' wholly-owned express subsidiary PSA has reached a
tentative agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement with
Council 75 of the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA-CWA), which
represents PSA's 268 flight attendants.
"We are very pleased to have reached a tentative agreement with
the AFA and thank the union leadership for their dedication in
support of our flight attendants," said Keith Houk, PSA president
and CEO. "We would also like to express our appreciation to the
National Mediation Board and Mediator Gerry McGuckin for their help
in reaching this agreement."
The AFA Master Executive Council (MEC) must first approve the
tentative agreement before it can be sent to its members for
consideration. This first step is expected to take place in the
coming weeks. "PSA Flight Attendants stood together, strong and
determined to reach a mutually beneficial agreement that contains
meaningful improvements. Flight Attendants were adamant that our
role as first responders be recognized and that this agreement
ensures our future success as an airline," said L.C. Acor, AFA PSA
President.
The agreement, reached with the assistance of the National
Mediation Board and Mediator Gerry McGuckin, is being prepared for
distribution to the AFA members at PSA. Until the tentative
agreement is presented to PSA Flight Attendants, details will not
be made public.
The tentative agreement would cover the airline's 268 flight
attendants, who are based in Dayton, OH, Knoxville, TN and
Charlotte, NC.
