Quadcopter Pilot Tells Police Someone Stole His GoPro

Small UAV Crashed During A Flight In Florida

A man flying his quadcopter with a GoPro camera on board around his Bradenton, FL neighborhood filed a police report after his aircraft went down and someone pulled the camera off the aircraft.

According to a report in The Smoking Gun, 28-year-old Lester Lechleitner told the police that he was flying the aircraft around his neighborhood Friday night when he saw it fall from the sky and land in the street. When he got to the spot where the aircraft came down, the camera was missing.

The official police report from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office indicates that Lechleitner told police he suspected that a neighbor had the camera, since he had seen the man "walking back towards his house suspiciously."

Police requested permission to look around the neighbor's house, which he granted. The camera was not found.
