Singapore Airshow Hampered By Fears of Coronavirus

Coronavirus Continues to Impact Air Travel and Commerce All Over The World

Every two years, high-level government and military delegations, as well as senior corporate executives around the world attend the picturesque Singapore Airshow to do business in this popular region. It’s reportedly Asia’s largest Airshow, so it has become a pivotal place for leading aerospace companies and  growing operations to see and be seen.

However; the specter of possible exposure to the Coronavirus is creating serious concerns and the threat of affiliated hazards is causing many to cancel their plans to attend.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has already bailed out and the Feb. 10 Singapore Airshow Aviation Leadership Summit has been halted as well.

Speakers at the Leadership Summit were due to include ICAO President Salvatore Sciacchitano, FAA Administrator Steve Dickson and IATA Director General Alexandre de Juniac.

Bombardier, for instance, noted that they were canceling... “Out of an abundance of caution...”

Complicating all this, Singapore has denied entry to all Chinese visitors and foreigners with a recent history of travel to China, where the virus originated.

Still; some of the bigger players are giving it a try... as Boeing, Airbus and Lockheed Martin report that they are still planning attendance.

We’ll keep you updated...
