Iranian Airliner Hits Trees Upon Landing

Official: TU-154 Went Off Course In Fog

No injuries were reported when an Iranian TU-154 (file photo, right) went off course in heavy fog, hit a grove of trees near Minsk, then landed safely. Thirty-eight passengers and four crew members, mostly from Iran and Belarus, were aboard the Sunday morning flight.

Airport duty officer Valery Skubyev said the Kish Airlines flight was headed to Copenhagen from Tehran and was making a scheduled landing in Minsk. He said the jetliner was off course when it hit nearby trees. It was then forced to make an emergency landing. The aircraft's fuselage and wings were reportedly damaged in the incident.
