Also: Lockheed Martin LM-100J Cert, Boeing-Embraer Joint Venture, 2000th GEnx, DeHavilland Canada

One of the more intriguing bits of news coming out of the recent DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase was US Sport Planes’s Scott Severen revelation to ANN that the Jabiru J430 will soon be available in kit form. The Jabiru J430 aircraft have been developed as touring aircraft with a wide cockpit, high cabin and ample leg room, and three human sized doors. The Jabiru J430 cruises at 120 knots on 6 -7.5 GPH. The Jabiru Airframe kits are manufactured using Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) technologies. It is a system which offers light weight at the same time as high structural integrity. The last survivor of the Hindenburg disaster passed away November 8 at the age of 90, according to the Navy Lakehurst Historical Society. AMA Drone Report 11.14.19: DJI Drone-To-Phone, Drone Corridor, Drone Workshop

Also: NOTAM Data Optimization Summit, CASA Warns Drone Pilots, Drones Reveal Iceland Glaciers, SeaWorld Drone Show

Well... we knew this was coming... DJI is now demonstrating a direct drone-to-phone, Wi-Fi based solution to remotely identify airborne drones. DJI’s remote identification solution, developed in collaboration with industry stakeholders and regulators, broadcasts information from drones directly to off-the-shelf mobile phones using existing Wi-Fi protocols. Using a simple app, anyone within radio range of the drone can receive that signal and learn the location, altitude, speed and direction of the drone, as well as an identification number for the drone and the location of the pilot. A state supported 50-mile unmanned traffic management drone corridor, which runs from Central New York to the Mohawk Valley has been completed. The first-in-the-nation corridor is the most advanced

Airborne-Unmanned 11.19.19: VSR700 1st Flt, DJI v Malaria, Drone Penalty

Also: Drone Industry Workshop, Drones Monitor Scottish Seas, Public Safety UAS Summit, 50-Mile Drone Corridor

The prototype of Airbus Helicopters’ VSR700 unmanned aerial system has performed its first flight at a drone test center in the south of France. The VSR700 performed several take-offs and landings on Friday 8th of November with the longest flight lasting around 10 minutes. The VSR700 was tethered with 100-foot cables to fully secure the flight test zone. The subsequent phases of the flight test program will now evolve towards free flight, and then progressively open the flight envelope. DJI and a team of entomologists in the field of malaria elimination are working together to develop a revolutionary technique to fight the disease. By combining the research team’s expertise and DJI’s drone technology, a new way to fight the potentially deadly disease has been created. For

Airborne 11.18.19: DeLand 2019, BelugaXL Cert, GAMA 3Q/19

Also: 1000 New easyJet Pilots, Drone Conviction, Flight Options Academy, Transportation Career Bill

The DeLand Sport Aviation Expo wrapped up Saturday, and despite uncooperative weather, organizers feel the show was a success. Jana Filip, Sport Aviation Administrator said the event, now in its fourth year, pretty much held its own compared to previous years. And even though temperatures were chilly, and there was off-and-on rain each day, it couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of the people who made the trip to central Florida. Insanely ugly but none-the-less lovable for its cargo carrying capabilities, the BelugaXL has received its Type Certification from EASA, paving the way for entry-into-service by early 2020. The BelugaXL allows for 30% extra transport capacity being 23 feet longer and about three feet wider than its BelugaST predecessor. With the largest cargo bay cross-section of all existing ca
