FAA Employee Caught In Child Sex Sting

Tried To Arrange An Encounter With A 10-Year-Old Girl

An FBI child sex sting has resulted in the arrest of an FAA employee who was indicted last Tuesday on federal charges.

Radio station WTOP reports that the FAA employee, 46-year-old Scott Casoni, had replied to an online ad mentioning sex with a minor. He continued the conversation on Kik, a messenger app for smartphones, and sent a photo of himself that authorities matched to his Virginia driver's license.

Casoni arranged the meeting with the person he thought was the 10-year-old girl's father for sex with the girl, and requested a photo of her. He asked if the undercover agent was a law enforcement officer, and was assured that the agent was not.

When he arrived at the meeting location, Casoni, a 20-year Army veteran, at first fought off the arresting officer, but he was eventually subdued, handcuffed and interviewed.

Court documents indicate that Casoni admitted to needing to "conceal his actions" but denied that he would have actually had sex with the girl. He pleaded not guilty to charges of traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sex with a minor.
