Surprisingly; Sonaca Aircraft announced that it will cease production of its S200 aircraft.
Sonaca CEO Yves DeLatte describes the measure as a “necessary decision… ” engendered by the COVID-19 pandemic’s adverse impact on general aviation and, in particular, pilot training. Sonaca Aircraft, a subsidiary of the Belgian Aerospace conglomerate Sonaca Group, has committed to offer employment to all employees formerly engaged in the production of the S200. The FAA has published its interim final rule regarding the modernization of Aviation Maintenance Technician schools, now open for public comment. The interim rule uses a performance-based regulation that offloads some of the process of curriculum management and development towards technical educational organizations, freeing the education system from the slow pace of bureaucracy. Sporty’s latest edition of their Pilot Training software is now available for Apple Computer users, and natively accessible on Macbooks, iMac, or Mac Pro. Sporty’s also stated that the training program is also available in offline
mode so that learners can interact with the content regardless of whether they have an active internet connection. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
