Pratt & Whitney Canada PW308C to Power New Dassault Falcon 2000DX BizJet

Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (P&WC), has announced that twin PW308C engines will power Dassault Aviation's newest addition to the Falcon line of business jets, the Falcon 2000DX.

The 3,250 nm Falcon 2000DX will complement the Falcon 2000EX, which is also powered by the PW308C.

"The PW308C recently surpassed 75,000 flight hours on the Falcon 2000EX and has built up a strong track record of performance, reliability and superior economics," said Alain M. Bellemare, President, P&WC. "We are really looking forward to continuing this legacy of outstanding performance on the Falcon 2000DX."

The new Falcon 2000DX delivers the same spacious, quiet interior as its longer-range sibling, the 2000EX, but was developed for customers with less extensive city pair requirements.

"We expect a very warm market reception for this extraordinary aircraft given its attractive price point and operating costs," said Jean G. Rosanvallon, President and CEO of Dassault Falcon.

The PW308C engine, rated at 7,000 lbs. thrust (ISA + 17C), is one of eight models in the PW300 engine family, which powers a wide range of business and regional aircraft. Since 1992, PW300 family members have accumulated more than 4 million operating hours on over 600 aircraft with 370 operators in 42 countries worldwide.

The PW300 series achieved a major breakthrough in the corporate market in the early 2000's when Dassault Aviation selected the PW308C for its Falcon 2000EX and the PW307A for its long-range, tri-engine Falcon 7X business jet.

Dassault says the standard-equipped Falcon 2000DX will have the capability to climb directly to 41,000 feet in 17 minutes and offer a low approach speed of 112kts which is ideal for short field landings. The Falcon 2000DX will also come standard with the advanced EASy flight deck.

Certification and first deliveries of the Falcon 2000DX are expected by the end of 2007.
