FAA Selects Rockwell Collins To Support Flight Operations

Rockwell Collins' ARINCDirect Services To Support FAA's Aircraft Fleet

The FAA has selected Rockwell Collins’ ARINCDirect flight planning, flight scheduling, international trip support, aircraft data link, safety management and flight tracking services to support flight operations for its fleet of 32 specially-equipped flight inspection aircraft.

Under the new contract, ARINCDirect services are being utilized by the FAA’s Flight Inspection Service which provides airborne flight inspection of space and ground based navigational aids for departure, en route and arrival flight procedures in the United States national airspace system. The FAA is also using ARINCDirect to enhance inspection flights on select foreign navigational facilities for the Department of Defense.

“This agreement demonstrates our ability to meet the specific needs of government aviation customers and is an excellent example of how we are successfully expanding our services to this market,” said David Poltorak, vice president, Business Aviation Services for Rockwell Collins. “Our ARINCDirect flight support services will support the FAA’s mission to provide the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world.”

Rockwell Collins’ ARINCDirect is the most comprehensive suite of flight support services for business and government aviation, including flight planning, regional and international trip support, cabin connectivity and flight operations management.
